In an era when work was a bit scarce all over Italy, on the island of Elba there were the mines and a hard job that every boy wanted to take on to have economic stability and give a better future for the family

We will start from the old mining village of Rio nell'Elba, with a visit to the Archaeological Museum, where a vast collection of ancient artefacts, from the Copper Age and beyond, will serve as an introduction to an evocative and exciting adventure, a leap back in time to understand what this side of the island was. 

On board our VM90s you will discover fascinating places, full of history, colours and minerals, where everything around will sparkle like in a sci-fi movie. 

We will learn how students were taught excavation techniques inside the experimental tunnel, recently restored and made safe by the Mining Park of the island of Elba.

To conclude the Safari experience, the search for the area's typical minerals, such as the precious and fascinating Hematite and the ancient flintstone Pyrite.
